Full Bloom — Inspired by my mother’s love of gardening, I painted large single blooms that focus on the architecture of the flower, along with each ones bright sensual color. By cropping into the flower, I created movement, as if the petals are bursting through the canvas and growing out of the frame. Each bloom has a strong presence.

Paint Pots — My series on Paint Pots from The Yellowstone National Park have an important connection to the pandemic. These hot springs have a rare enzyme that likes the heat and because of this unusual and newly discovered feature, scientists have been able to use it for dna research, medicine and the creation of vaccines, like the ones being used for developing the Covid-19 vaccines.

Woodland — This body of work is about how important trees are to us and the earth. My artwork explores our relationship to the trees around us; from the intimate and personal single tree to the grand, large scale woodland. Today we are experiencing global warming and its effects on just about everything. Forests play an important role in regulating carbon dioxide. I believe the tree is the best technology for fighting climate change.

ColorScape — My ColorScapes are created both with and without visual reference. Sometimes I stand in front of a white canvas and see what happens. I like surprises.
